About Our Organization
Our Team
Team Run To Remember (R2R) was launched in April 2009 to provide a way for runners to join in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. In its inaugural program year, Team R2R will offer up to 50 runners an opportunity to run the 2009 ING New York City Marathon while fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Association.
What We Provide
Team R2R has three primary goals: that each of our runners successfully and safely completes the marathon, that each runner has fun doing it, and that each runner is able to make a difference through raising funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association. Our team provides runners with training guidance, fundraising assistance, regular social gatherings, web tools and race-day transportation and support.
The Alzheimer’s Association, the world leader in Alzheimer research and support, is a voluntary health organization dedicated to finding preventions, treatments and, eventually, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Our mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research and to enhance care and support for individuals, their families and caregivers. We provide reliable information and care consultation; create supportive services for families; increase funding for dementia research; and influence public policy changes. The Alzheimer's Association nationwide network of chapters offers a broad range of programs and services for people with the disease, families, care partners and professional care providers. Our vision is a world without Alzheimer's disease.
