Join me in my efforts to support Alzheimer's Association New York City Chapter!
Please help me in my efforts to support the Alzheimer's Association as I run the 2009 New York City Marathon in memory of my Nana - Dorothy Feldstein Fox.
My Nana arrived at Ellis Island on November 8, 1909 - exactly 100 years to the week of this year's NY City Marathon! She grew up and spent the majority of her life in Brooklyn.
By the time I got to know her, she had already started to suffer from early stages of dementia - forgetting things and becoming paranoid. This continued to get worse for well over a decade until her death in 1991.
I am dedicating my efforts for this race in loving memory of my Nana. One hundred years after she arrived at Ellis Island, running through the city which she called home and raising money to combat the disease which took her away from us.
